The sample shows AR in dark green within a stepped geometric border. Fan-shaped details and brass-coloured lines give the illustration a quiet vintage stationery feel. These details are printed colours, not metallic foil, engraving or embossing. AR is example lettering; you add and approve your own initials in the online designer.

Choose the initials you use in your everyday name, a pen name or a simple personal mark. Two letters suit the sample layout, but you can adjust the text to fit your preferred arrangement. If you are buying a gift, check the order of the letters with the recipient. A first-and-last-name pair and a formal monogram can mean different things to different people.

Choose ruled or unruled pages

Select ruled pages for prose, journal entries, meeting notes or a running list of ideas. Choose unruled pages for drawings, diagrams and freer layouts. Both versions use the same materials and A5 format. The open-notebook photograph illustrates the ruled option; unruled pages have no printed writing lines.

The inside has no preprinted writing prompts, calendars, trackers or planning templates. You can give the notebook one purpose or let it collect different kinds of notes. A softcover flexes naturally, and the perfect-bound spine should be opened gently rather than forced flat. Try your preferred pen on a small area first, especially when using wet inks or broad markers.

How to add your initials

Choose your page style and A5 size, then click Customize product. Select Front before placing the main design. The gallery example is not preloaded. To recreate the Art Deco theme, download the green Art Deco frame PNG and upload it using Add a photo. The transparent illustration contains the border and small pen, without any initials.

1. Centre the frame within the cover’s visible print guides and leave a comfortable outside margin.
2. Choose Add words and enter your initials as a separate editable text layer.
3. Adjust the letter size and spacing until the initials sit clearly inside the frame.
4. Select Back if you want an additional name, short line or illustration on the reverse.
5. Choose Review, check both covers and save the design before adding the notebook to your cart.

The studio provides a 140 × 203 mm artwork canvas for each cover. Keep the border, letters and important details inside the guides. Resize the frame proportionally so its stepped corners retain their shape. A margin around the frame is part of the sample’s appearance; you do not need to enlarge it to the edge of the cover.

Simple lettering, carefully placed

Dark green initials work with the sample illustration, while a clear serif style gives the letters a traditional feel. Keep enough space around them to preserve the calm layout. If you add punctuation, check how it changes the visual balance. You can also include a short subtitle, but it should not compete with the main initials.

Review the letters after every size or position change. A saved artwork image containing initials will behave as one picture, whereas words added in the studio remain separate design objects while you edit. If you upload your own monogram or illustration, use a clear source file that you created or have permission to reproduce. Resolve any image-quality warning before approving the print preview.

Keep dry, store flat and avoid prolonged direct sunlight. Do not sharply bend the cover or press the spine open. Gallery photographs are illustrative mockups; printed colours, paper appearance and placement may vary. A saved custom design is required to order, and the approved artwork determines the printed cover. Artwork size and the number of objects do not add a design-area fee.
